I had this tea for about 5 months before I ever tried it. I had a small box that I was going to experiment with. Well, after "experiencing" it, I ordered the case! I sleep so much better, and it also helps with what I call "analysis paralysis". I can get things done without my thoughts racing in a hundred directions.
I drink this tea before bed, when I am done with all I have to do, because you will be asleep soon after finishing the cup. I also drink it in the day time, brewed with some Monkey Picked Oolong, so that I will not be sleepy.
A great bonus is that after about 30 days I have softer skin, stronger nails and not as much gray hair. I can tell the difference because I wear locs and can see where the gray starts and stops! That alone will make me never run out!

Somehow, this combination of lavender and tulsi (holy basil) puts me right to sleep. I usually drink a cup every night before bedtime and it seems to soothe my mind from the thoughts of the day and help me get to sleep quickly. Lavender is traditionally a very soothing herb, and most people are familiar with oil made from this plant. The smell of the tea is wonderful - lavender and an earthy, anise smell that is the holy basil. The taste may put some people off, or take some getting used to, as the tea has mostly the strawlike, slightly earthy, slightly anise-y, taste of holy basil but the tea works so effectively that you will get used to it.

Excellent lavender taste but there are alot of empty tea packets (that are wrapped and sealed as if they're full but u open it up n it's an empty tea bag). This is included in the 100 packets so, though u pay for 100, you really don't get 100 tea packets. The first few times it happened, I laughed it off because I'd never seen that before. But one day I had to go thru 6 packets to find one that actually had tea in it, so it stopped being funny. It still continues to happen. Frustrating. My guess is you get about 80 tea bags with tea in it. It's a shame because it's a good tea.

Decent alternative to Tao of Tea's microbrewed bottled version

Although I prefer the taste of The Tao Of Tea Pure Leaf Holy Basil Tea, Tulsi Lavender (12x11.5Oz ) , its availability and cost prohibit my drinking it to the extent that I desire.

I have now tried the Stash Tea Company Organic Lavender Tulsi Herbal Tea, 18 Count Tea Bags in Foil 0.8 oz. (Pack of 6) product, and can definitively say that the Stash Lavender Tulsi tea does not have the 'magical' taste that I found in the Tao of Tea version -- and given that we're talking about a tulsi lavender tea that is made with a tea bag, as compared to a bottle of such that was microbrewed, it is perhaps not a surprise that there would be a noticeable difference in the quality of the taste, and that the microbrewed version would taste so much more 'delicately flavorful' (to an extent, it's almost as though the Stash tea bag version involves a taste that is a taste analogue to the sound of a somewhat muffled voice, versus the Tao of Tea version, whose corresponding taste analogue would be the sound of one person singing, and whose voice could be heard clearly).

That being said, the Stash tea does have a definite tulsi lavender taste, and adaptogenic effect, and it does result in my relaxing, and beginning to feel a little sleepy -- which is a welcome, though atypical, consequence/effect with my body, given how tenacious aspects of insomnia can be for me.

Thus (and because the taste is 'there', though not as clearly as I would prefer (but I understand that there is a trade-off of sorts if/when brewing via hot water and a tea bag, versus microbrewing the actual leaves)), I will continue to purchase the Stash version (albeit while silently hoping that the Tao of Tea version ultimately involves less cost insanity at some point, or is otherwise available (locally) in more markets, so that (expensive) shipping costs (of the in-a-glass-bottle product) are not involved)).

Tastes great! I was worried when some reviews said this tasted kind of pepperminty. I don't get that at all. I don't like mint so I was taking a chance and I'm glad I did. I am very happy with these. I used to buy that one expensive brand of Lavender tea that is sold in the grocery store but it was just too expensive. Why is lavender tea so hard to fine? I did laugh when I opened the box; the box was full but they weren't stacked in there like you'd expect, they were dumped in the box. I didn't mind at all, I just had a good laugh.
